In order for their driver to work PROPERLY, you need to set the scanner to 'IBM Hand-Held USB' mode and NOT 'USB OPOS Hand-Held'. So when I built my own app and set it to 32-bit mode, then the driver would load, but would not function. The reason why the default build of the sample app fails, is because it runs 64-bit. The key is that for whatever reason the scanner device is not functioning. The device cannot perform the requested procedure.īlah blah blah. Now it gets past that problem, but it bails when it tries to call the Open()įunction on the scanner device. It does not look like Motorola plans to do any work on that driverĪnd port it to 64-bit Windows, so I have been looking at other options.
They work well, and we interface to them using the Simple COM Port Emulation driver. We have been using Symbol LS2208 and LS4278 scanners in our warehouse for some time with our custom apps.
